Tom heads to Brands Hatch
Round 8 of the British GT Championship returns this weekend after the summer break.
Tom:
It’s great to be back racing after the summer break, I’m raring to get going again. Racing at Spa was a tremendous experience but didn’t go exactly how we wanted it to. Holding P1 for the majority of the race to then cross the line in P5 stings a little, however showing that pace for such a long time was fantastic.
It was a tough 2 hours but I am happy with my performance and we collected a lot of valuable data that we brought back to British soil and are taking to Brands Hatch this weekend.
Long races take so much out of the car and going into another 2-hour race it is important that we have learned a bit more about preserving the car and the tyres. With this on board I’m certain that we can get a good number of points from the next race.
Brands is yet another historic circuit I love racing at, it comes with some unique challenges with the elevation involved.
It has also been a while since I have driven the Supra, as the summer break has meant that there has been no racing for over a month and I’ve been itching to get back behind the wheel.
Once more, practice sessions and qualifying will be essential in getting back into the swing of things before the main event on Sunday.
With only 2 races left I am sitting 6th in the GT4 Driver’s Championship, I think that is a really good effort for my first season in the series. It’s not over yet however, there are plenty of points still up for grabs and Jordan and I are definitely looking to end the season on a high note.
With the end of the season in sight I must once again thank those who support me, including my sponsors. You can follow my race weekend using the links below, I’m certain it’ll be an exciting watch.
