The Race Weekend
Tom returns to contest the highly competitive LGM series where he finished 4th last season.
Testing on Saturday couldn’t have gone better, setting fastest time in almost every session!
Sunday had 3 heats and a final, no qualifying but had pre-set grids with a front, middle and back grid slot for the three races.
The Heats
In the first heat Tom started 12th and finished 3rd with fastest lap, only to be given a 10 second penalty for a nose cone offence.
In the second heat he started 25th and finished 6th, again with fastest lap.
In the third and final Tom started 3rd and quickly got up in to the lead winning the race from start to finish.
The Final
Tom would line up for the final started 5th, without the earlier penalty it would have been pole position.
A tricky start, but was soon up to 3rd and set about chasing down a two second gap to the leaders. This he did, setting another fastest lap and collecting the bonus two championship points for doing so.
He caught the leaders with 6 of the 24laps to go but try as he may, could not get the move done and had to settle for third place.
Tom now looks forward to the next round in two weeks time at the PF International circuit.
